Who is Sheila Msangi?
Sheila Msangi is a Tanzania-based qualitative researcher and public health consultant working across public health, food systems, environmental sustainability, and urban research.
Her training spans a BSc in Environmental Science and Management from Ardhi University, an MSc in Public Health Research from The Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology (NM-AIST), and registration as an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) Expert with the National Environment Management Council (NEMC). This combination lets her move across environmental compliance, community engagement and consultation, and health systems research, often on the same project.
Her research career began at Ardhi University's Institute of Human Settlements Studies (IHSS), following the completion of her first degree. Later, she wanted to deepen her research skills; that is when she pursued her MSc in Public Health Research at NM-AIST, where Ifakara Health Institute (IHI) funded her master's and gave her the opportunity to lead her first study from design through to publication.
